Looking for a new challenge?

Great news – we’re hiring!  Genesee County 911 is looking for qualified, highly motivated telecommunicators for its 911 team.

What is a telecommunicator?  A telecommunicator is a call taker and a dispatcher that handles incoming emergencies from 911 callers and from field personnel, police, fire and EMS.

Don’t worry if you come without experience. We have sophisticated training process that takes 4-6 months to complete.

Our center handles approximately 460,000 calls annually of both 911 and administrative lines.  Currently, we work 12 hour shifts with rotating days off.  We have 4 teams, 2 work days and 2 work nights. We have a generous pay scale, paid training, benefits and 401 contribution.
